Notable women ranging from Duluth’s first female mayor to leaders in the business, nonprofit and higher education sectors will be the featured speakers at Celebrate Women in Leadership, an event open to all Northland women seeking to develop leadership skills, make networking connections and learn about what propels others to success.
The event is sponsored by the Aim High Network, a network of Northland professional women that meets regularly to discuss issues and present seminars and other resources for its members.
“Women in leadership and those aspiring to be leaders confront unique opportunities and challenges along their journeys,” said Aim High Network Co-Founder Pam Solberg-Tapper, a Duluth-based professional coach and consultant. “But others have successfully navigated those steps. Our goal is to highlight what other women leaders have learned and applied, as well as showcase what inspires them.”
The event is from 5-7:30 p.m. Sept. 29 at the Kitchi Gammi Club, 831 E. Superior St., Duluth. The main activity will be a panel discussion featuring Duluth Mayor Emily Larson; Dr. Kathleen Annette, President and CEO of the Blandin Foundation; Dr. Renee Wachter, Chancellor of the University of Wisconsin-Superior; and Jo Ann Hoag, former Vice President at St. Luke’s and former CEO of Lake View Hospital.
“This will be a practical and useful event for helping inspire and motivate women on their professional paths and for providing networking opportunities that are critical for success,” said Aim High Network Co-Founder Mary Mathews, a Duluth-based business consultant. “Women from all industries and backgrounds are welcome to attend.”
Tickets cost $30 and are sold in advance only. The event includes appetizers and beverages. A cash bar also will be available. To register, click here.
